Reuters News March 8, 2023 – Salesforce Inc said on Tuesday it was working with OpenAI to add the ChatGPT sensation to its collaboration software Slack. The main objective is to bring generative artificial intelligence to its business software generally.
The San Francisco based company said this will be called EinsteinGPT that would combine its proprietary AI with that of outside partners. It includes OpenAI to help businesses to generate email drafts, generate computer code and customer account as well. The ChatGPT in near future integrate with Slack to help users summarize conversation threads and handle other queries.
It seems that a race among technology companies to upgrade their software or tools with generative AI, which has ability to create new text, imagery and other content based on inputs from past compiled data.
For instance the technology giant Microsoft Crop has announced that OpenAI latest technology can generate meeting notes in its product teams. It would also suggest email replies to vendors through its Viva Sales Subscription.
Clara Shih Salesforce general manager said in press conference that the announcement responded to demand by businesses for the nascent technology. She also said Salesforce’s proprietary AI models and data ability to differentiate its offering.
Salesforce’s generative AI tools would help companies “completely reimagine how they engage with their customers,” she said.
Salesforce also created a fund to invest in generative AI startups.
